The Salsa clubs in Birmingham have certainly been keeping the flag flying for the Midlands.

Several promoters run Salsa clubs as well as classes as long as those promoters in London.

This Salsa club night is run by Mauricio Reyes of Latin Motion and is at the Ipanema Bar on a Thursday.

Mauricio founded Latin Motion 10 years ago and hosts salsa classes, workshops and Birmingham Salsa Club nights in and around the Midlands area. Mauricio, also a top Salsa DJ, has been awarded top UK Salsa DJ and Top Regional Promoter by the UK Salsa Congress in 2003 and also an award for services to Salsa.

There are classes from 8:00pm - 10:00pm by Mauricio, Zane, Michael, Maxine & Wesley for beginners and intermediate levels (taught "On the 1") and the club starts immediately afterwards until 1:00am. You can dance on the terrace all year round.This is one of the best Salsa Clubs in Birmingham.

Admission: £4/£3 per 1hr class, £6 for 2 classes. Club is FREE.

This is yet another Salsa Club in Birmingham run by Mauricio Reyes of Latin Motion fame and is at St. ANNE'S CLUB, Digbeth on a Friday night.

There are classes from 9:00pm - 10:30 pm with Alicia, Julie, Graeme, Michael, Jose, Wesley & Gary Thomas for beginners to advanced levels (taught "On the 1", levels 3 - 4 may be "On the 2") and the SALSABRAVA Party starts immediately afterwards with resident DJs Mauricio, Diablo, Zane and Gary until 2:00 am.

There is a large wooden dance floor in a ball-room type venue which is well air-conditioned and ventilated. There is a licenced bar until 2:00am.

Admission: £5/£6 club admission - may vary on special events. Classes are FREE with club admission.
